Celebrating English Wine Week

Meet the Producers Behind Our English Wine Selection

English Wine Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the talent and ambition driving one of the world's most exciting wine regions. At Jeroboams, we're proud to champion producers who have helped put English wine firmly on the map, alongside those shaping its future.

Here are four estates we're raising a glass to this week.

Nyetimber: A Pioneer of English Sparkling Wine

Few names embody English sparkling excellence quite like Nyetimber. A true pioneer of the category, the estate has played a defining role in establishing England's reputation for world-class sparkling wine.

The estate itself has a remarkable history. Nyetimber is mentioned in the Domesday Book, the great survey of England commissioned by William the Conqueror and published in 1086. While the name sounds suitably dramatic, the Domesday Book was essentially a comprehensive record of land ownership and assets across the kingdom. Nyetimber's Prestige Cuvée, 1086, takes its name from this historic milestone, linking one of England's most celebrated sparkling wines to the estate's centuries-old heritage.

From championing the classic Champagne trio of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier to launching England's first Prestige Cuvée, 1086, Nyetimber has consistently pushed the boundaries of what English wine can achieve.

Today, with 425 hectares of estate-owned vineyards across the South of England, Nyetimber continues to set the benchmark for elegance, precision and craftsmanship. This year, the estate has also unveiled a beautifully packaged limited-edition rosé release, making it an ideal bottle for summer celebrations

Harrow & Hope: Family-Owned Excellence

Nestled on the flinty slopes above Marlow in Buckinghamshire, Harrow & Hope is a shining example of the thoughtful, quality-focused approach that defines the best of modern English wine.

Founded by Henry and Kaye Laithwaite, the estate places sustainability at the heart of everything it does. No synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used in the vineyard, while compost is made on-site and returned to the soil. Henry's philosophy is simple: work with nature, not against it. In England's famously damp climate, that's no easy task, but the results speak for themselves.

The estate's sparkling wines have earned a devoted following for their purity, balance and distinctive sense of place.

Yotes Court: A Rising Star in Kent

Owned by racehorse owner Susannah Ricci, Yotes Court was planted in 2016 by Stephen Skelton MW, who praised it as “the best site he has planted in 45 years.”

Set on the rolling slopes of West Kent, the vineyard produces award-winning still and sparkling wines that combine precision, sustainability, and a playful nod to Susannah’s love of racing - from the colourful labels to names like Best Turned Out.

All wines are made from estate-grown grapes, with a focus on single varietal, single vintage expressions that showcase the site’s distinctive soil, slope, and climate. No shortcuts, just expressive, carefully crafted English wines.
